Issue One, The Male Issue
The face of America is the face of Black People. Our faces entertain, frighten, bring "Hope", sell clothing and shoes, make hate groups organize, and bring envy to those who try to look like us. But our faces also tell a story that is universal and real. Every wrinkle, crevice, blemish or line on our face has a story deep within its's pores. Our faces show happiness, joy, pain, power, anger, love, fatigue, frustration, fear, wins, losses, beauty, fear, and bravery. The narrative of America cannot be told without us. Yes, Black Faces Matter.
This issue features images of Black men, and an essay by award-winning author John Keene and poetry by the celebrated writer J. Darrius Greene.
